Band History

HMX was formed in Albany, NY by Rob & Jake from a corner-store coffee meeting in 2018 and a shared obsession with music that hits hard and cuts deep. Jake, Carlos & Rob channel the grit of ’90s grunge, the rebelliousness of punk, and the heaviness of metal into raw music built to move, rage, and reflect. Their music blends soul tugging energy with emotional depth, exploring themes of love, anger, politics, morality, and reflection. What began as a few song ideas has grown into a project dedicated to channeling powerful influences into a sound uniquely their own. HMX is a rebellion in sound.
